In an interview simran was asked “in your time, you and jyothika were the top heroines. How was your competition? Were you intimidated?” Simran replied “no not at all, jyothika and me had different style in the roles we chose, and she’s a really good friend of me, shes like my little sister actually”
Then she was asked “ in 12B, there was two heroine roles, why did you choose the homely characters role? Did you feel like you weren’t fit for the other heroine role?” Simran replied “its not my choice, its the directors choice and i do have a history of playing more homely toned down roles in my movies and it has been successful. So he maybe felt that i would suit it more than a bubbly, cute character which jyothika is known for in her movies. I feel that she was best for that role.”
