Without a doubt Sahil Kochhar stands out as a creative whiz kid. His reflection of beauty and out-of-the-box design mechanism reveals the great craftsman in him. For spring summer 2015, Sahil pays a tribute to the beautiful craft of Mathura known as Sanjhi. With experience of a seasoned and dynamism of the young, Kochhar quite effortlessly portrays his exquisite designs through intricate picture motifs cut into paper as practiced in the unique craft of Sanjhi. Centered around modern 3D paper cutting techniques in ornamental patterns, the collection, Dhoop Chhaon talks about celebrating the juxtaposition of light and shadow with an unabashed love for romance. We absolutely loved the array of glamorous floor sweeping gowns, oversized trenches and form fitting dresses that reinterpreted modern designs interpretations with classic finesse. Quite like his last AW14 collection where he indulged in subtle beiges, carmine reds and pewters, he keeps it similar by beautifully blending lemon yellow, fiery orange and bold blues to perfection. A lifelike harmony between the silk floss chain stitch embroideries and textured silhouettes is what this collection takes pride in.
