what is kollywood and tollywood

Kollywood comes out of the state of Tamil Nadu. It’s in the language of Tamil. Tollywood can either mean popular culture in West Bengal or popular culture in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Indian/South Asian films/popular culture is called Bollywood. Bollywood refers only to Hindi films produced in Mumbai (previously known as Bombay) and popular culture coming out of the same city. India produces thousands of films every year from all parts of the country. There’s also Pollywood (can either refer to Punjabi popular culture or Peshawar, Pakistani popular culture), Lollywood (Lahore, Pakistan), Dhallywood (Bangladeshi cinema) etc etc.
