"Indru Netru Naalai"... A time-travel thriller with more comedy than thrills

"Indru Netru Naalai"... A time-travel thriller with more comedy than thrills:

Indru Netru Naalai was such a laugh riot !  Parents were almost ROFLing (though the first five minutes were a bit disconcerting with a cameo by Arya wearing ridiculous glasses) I never even dreamt that Time travel could fit in so well into a hilarious very Tamil cinema setting. And let me say also that I thought the Time travel part of this movie was more well done that what JK Rowling tried to do in Prisoner of Azkaban.

Vishnu is a decent leading man. Very pleasant. But Karunakaran (of Soodhu Kavvum fame) steals the show, making for a superb side kick to the hero, especially when he’s not being the side kick. He gets so many of the funny lines and uses them to maximum effect.

Mia George, the heroine is actually quite nicely pictured. She is sane, pretty and even funny sometimes ! And her voice sounded different (read Savitha didn’t dub for her, or if she did, it was a wonderful job). She’s from or atleast now in the state next door, surprise, surprise.

And loved the tongue in cheek cameo of Bagavathi Perumal and the reference to Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. This sort of a thing is what makes it so very .. regular Tamil Cinema, yet it is sci fi ! Brilliant endeavor, hats off to the debutante director Ravi Kumar. I’m definitely including him in my “Whose filmography should I stalk” list.
