classical topic. the age gap between heros and heroines whats your thought on that?

lol no matter what i say i’m going to sound like a hypocrite because my very first otp had a 20 year age difference. but yes i generally believe they’re yuck- ESPECIALLY when it’s obvious that there is an age gap OR they fail to acknowledge there is an age gap. but moreover the age gap between heros and heroines, no matter what industry it is in india, is testament to the sexiest nature of indian culture itself. this notion that men don’t age, women do- men are the ideal!- they are what everyone should look up to, their talent and heroism overshadows their ageing looks! it’s like when a man marries he can still act- but a woman marries and people expect her to leave her career and prioritise her kids- they look at her on-screen and think ‘ewwww, that’s some man’s wife he’s romancing’- whereas the thought ‘that’s some woman’s husband’. it’s this notion that jumps a woman up from 30+/35 almost drastically to the 60/70 year old mother/aunty (if she still wants to keep acting). honestly it sucks- actors should act with actresses their own age, or they should be prepared to act with actresses older than them.
